Materials and systems
Choosing the right system depends on the building and the performance you expect. uPVC windows offer excellent value and good thermal performance, and with accessories such as trickle vents they can provide controlled ventilation too. Timber windows give a building a natural look and timeless character, while aluminium systems allow for modern, large glazed areas with outstanding structural stability. TeleHome only installs new, quality systems: we do not fit salvaged or second-hand windows, because their long-term thermal and air-tightness cannot be guaranteed.

The replacement process
A professional window replacement does not end when the new unit is lifted into place. The process includes removing the old frame, checking the condition of the reveal, accurate alignment and fixing, foam sealing, external and internal sealing, and making good. Replacing windows in prefab panel buildings needs particular care, as the fixing into the reinforced concrete structure and a thermal-bridge-free junction are critical.

Installation and sealing
Correct installation starts with precise levelling and stress-free fixing. Sealing a window is not just a matter of expanding foam: correctly applied vapour barrier and breathable membrane layers keep the junction free of thermal bridges and prevent condensation for years to come. After installation we carry out any fine adjustment needed, correcting the closing action and hardware on uPVC units, for example.

Repair and maintenance
Full replacement is not always necessary. Some problems can be solved by repairing the existing window, such as replacing hardware or seals or adjusting the closing mechanism. uPVC windows can often be repaired if the frame itself is in good condition. Regular maintenance and periodic adjustment significantly extend the life of your windows and doors.

How long does window replacement take?
In an average apartment, all the windows can be replaced in as little as one day. Larger jobs or custom sizes may take longer.
Will you need to break out the wall?
Removing the old windows involves only minimal disruption. We aim for the least possible damage to walls and plaster, which keeps the job fast and clean.
What types do you recommend?
We recommend uPVC and aluminium windows with modern insulating glazing. The choice depends on your energy goals and budget.
Do you handle the finishing work too?
Yes. After installation we take care of repairs, plastering and making good, and can include painting if you wish. It is a complete, end-to-end service.
Do I need a permit to replace windows in Hungary?
Usually no permit is needed if the size and the appearance of the facade do not change. In a condominium building it is worth agreeing with the building manager (közös képviselő) beforehand, especially in prefab panel blocks.
